Three little bakers
Yesterday was a real baking day. Me, my sister and Lilleman baked 80 saffron buns and about 200 gingerbread cookies. It "only" took us six hours and I can say that I was completely exhausted afterwards. Lilleman used to be a good helper in the kitchen, but I don't know what happened the past six months. All ingredients should be poured in when it suits him, and at least half of everything is to end up in his stomach. Even just licking flour is apparently the same as a gourmet meal. I guess it has something to do with the development of their own free will ..
It feels a bit like cheating by baking before the first of Advent, and I know that many people think that you should wait to decorate and bake until just that first Sunday. But I prefer to have finished the decorating until then, so I can sit in peace and quiet with candlelight and enjoy my fragrant mulled wine and juicy saffron bun.
